Using Obsidian Git plugin for auto backups and commits to github.
Modified .git/config with 2 lines shown below (longpaths and safecrlf): This allowed for long file names and to leave the crlf warnings alone so commits would work.

This repository is intended to be cloned to a local folder and then opened as a repository folder by the Obsidian application.
After Obsidian is installed locally and configured to use this cloned repo, you should be able to use this link obsidian://open-vault?vault=kingdom to open it.
